Hi guys :-)

Hi guys :-)

Looks like no one is using this forum to introduce themselves so let me the first Smiling
My name is Helen, I live in the Netherlands and am a Luther fan since the first time I saw the video
of I really didn't mean it... ages ago when I was young and innocent LOL! We did not have many
music stations as cable TV came late to our country but when it finally arrived and Sky Channel was in
the package (for a few years) we went crazy here Eye-wink

Besides Luther I am a die-hard Diana Ross with or without Supremes fan. Been following her since
the 70's.
I have 9 pets; 3 cats and 6 ferrets and am in a relationship with Fred.
Hobby's are music, computers and I work for an audio importer that sells turntables etc. yes they
are still hot Smiling

That's about it...

Hi all,

Just like you all i am an avid fan of Luther. I was lucky to have seen him 3 times, twice at Wembley. He was magnificent! Just didn't want the shows to end!

I am now 45 years old and have been admiring his silky voice ever since his days in Change and can hand on heart state that no other artist has ever inspired me, made me smile or cry with their music as he has. I have various vinyl albums & 12" records that i will never part with.

A little about me: I live in Durham having moved here from London 12 years ago. My kids are flying the nest and i seem to have a little more time to listen to my old record collection, which i am totally enjoying.

Lets keep in touch seeing as Luther has brought us together.

Thank You for the joy Luther

I have been following Luther since the early eighties and so has my wife. I used to carry a great big stereo to the local outdoor swimming pool and just listen to Luther non stop while chillin with friends. My wife was lucky enough to see him at Wembley but i never got the chance and wish i had because now it too late. His music will never be out of fashion and never be forgotten. God bless you Luther

Hi Lee, I also started listening to Luther about 1981, I was 13 then. We may have walked past each other at one of his brilliant Wembley tours. I remember coming out on a natural high. I've just been given a USB turntable for my birthday, so i've had to go through all of my vinyl. Lots of Luther albums and 12 inches. Can't wait to get them on the ipod. Keep listening to the Main Man!

Hello, All! I just found this site today, thru Wikipedia.org and I am thrilled! I love Luther and its good to know I can talk to other people who did too. Its so hard to pick a favorite, there were sooo many that touched my heart, for so many reasons. A House is not a Home, is one that I tried to sing at a school audition. I remember hearing my voice crack! They told me I had to sing loud enough to be heard without the microphone. I knew that was a polite way of saying "get off the stage". But that was from the original, late 60s,done by Dionne Warrick. ( Oh, God, I'm getting so old!!) She did it wonderfully, and no one did it better, til Luther.I guess my all time favorite is "Superstar", which brings back painful & happy memories.....
Miss you Luther, Love you much!

So about me, Never too much is the first I heard from Luther, and I was hooked.

I live in LA in a n apartment, so I cant have pets, but I'd love to have a couple of kittens. Had 2 once before, and used to love to watch them run, chase each other from the kitchen into the living room, jump, sometimes hit and sometimes miss the couch nearest to the door. It was quite entertaining til I realized they were going to trash my couch!!

I'm originally from the east coast and feel sorry for those dealing with all that snow, dont miss it a bit!

Just got myself a turntable that can be connected via USB to my computer. Went thru all my old albums, yess, i said albums. (Been dragging them around for years, i knew I'd be happy about that sooner or later). So,Yaaay. Gonna spend tomorrow converting favs from album to cd. I know DVDs are newer, but my computer only plays cds . Oh well, better than nothing! Smiling Smiling Happy, happy new year to all!

Hi, Lee W, I'm new to the site, just found it today. I'd give anything to have been in your place at that concert. Smiling I was that close to Diana Ross, wwaaay back in the day, at my senior prom!! I couldnt get over how skinny she was, and how big her eyes and mouth were!!
I didnt find out that Luther had a home here in Los Angeles till after his death. I cannot sing a lick, but my fantasy was to sing with Luther, I even dreamed about it. I was too timid to write to Oprah, to make my dream come true (shes so good at doing that) and I'll hate myself forever for not doing it. But at least I still have his music.
I got a lot of info about him from Wikipedia.org, including where he is buried, but I think its New Jersey, not New York, but no worries, they are just across a bridge from each other.
Anyway, you'll probably see my post asking about which album had Luther singing "you've got me going in circles". I dont mean to be redundant, but I'm just so excited about finding this site. If you really have "all" his stuff, maybe you have that recording too?Can you tell me which album it is?

HI! I'm dexter .. fans of top music creator Eye-wink

Hi
I am Lee from the UK. I have loved Luther since i first heard him in 1981-i was about 8 years old!!
I have bought every album, video, and single ever since, and was fortunate to see him 4 times-the last time at Wembley and he was about 20 feet away from me-awesome!!!
I am glad to be able to get in touch with other fans, so lets stay in touch!!!

Hi Helen my screen name is moskittless. How are you? I, am from the United States. I have one pooch, and had her since she was 3 weeks old. She is 16 years. I, am widowed for six years and currently single. I just joined the Luther Vandross Site. I used to go on the previous site, but just getting back into the loop of computer's. And so happy to venture into this new site, which you can interact with fellow fans. I think this is GREAT. I Loved Luther (Uncle Ronnie) since I heard him sing "Never To Much". I heard him in the group Chic and other songs but really didn't know. Like I was saying, I heard him and asked my brother "who is that?!!" on the radio and he replied "I don't know". I made it my business to find out who this man/VOICE was! And ever since..... LOVED/ADORED him. I've an MP3 player with just his music. My brother's tease me and say "you have other cd's" I do but I, am bias to Luther (Uncle Ronnies')music. You mentioned Diana Ross and the Supremes. Like her with or without as well. I love my oldies but goodies or dusties as Detroit calls them. Four Tops, Temptations, Al Green, etc. My Father was in the Group the Velours in the doo-wop era. Okay if I keep on talk/type I want have anything to say later LOL. Talk with ya later.....
